Falls Church High School Orchestra

As we are starting to adjust to the idea of returning to school, we must be prepared for TAG DAY! It is taking place on Saturday, September, 12th. All students must report to the gym lobby by 8:00 am. They will go out into our community and ask for donations that promote the growth of our Orchestra program!

We need parent drivers for this event! Only parents with a valid license, insurance, and car may participate. Please consider helping out for this enormous fundraiser! It is our primary source of booster funds and it helps to purchase many items (including instruments and uniforms) for our students.

As per usual, the FCHS Orchestra had a fantastic concert on May 6th! It is such a bittersweet time, with our seniors graduating and everyone preparing for summer vacation.

Please remember that we have graduation on June 1st. We will be taking busses over to the Patriot Center on the Fairfax campus of GMU in the morning (pack a lunch).

The last concert of the school year is on May 6th at 7:30! A reception will follow

On March 13th, 2009 the Falls Church High School Orchestra performed at Edison HS for the District X Orchestra Festival event. The orchestra received the highest rating possible, from each judge. Congratulations Orchestra Jaguars!

Congratulations, Orchestra Members for a  wonderful concert last night. Everything went off without a hitch (and our percussionists made the night memorable!).

We will be going through Festival music for the next few days of classes, so please bring your instruments!

I hope you all have a relaxing winter break and come back ready to audition:)

The Event is at TC Williams on January 8-10!! Mark Your Calendars!!

Remember that Senior District Auditions are on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at Mount Vernon High School. Registration is from 4-6:30!! Remember to bring your 5 dollars!!

Remember guys that the Sweetz Cheesecake Fundraiser is due on Friday to Ms. Snow!! Also if you have not turned in your entertainment books please do so ASAP!! If its not in good condition, you must pay the $25 and purchase it.

The Longs Event and Our Concert is next Thursday. We also have a bake sale, so please bake!! The fee to attend the Longs Event is $2.00 Please give your money to Bridget or Viviana ASAP and if you will not being going, please let them know as well.  We will be leaving for the Longs house at 3:30. If you are not attending, please be dressed and ready to go by 6:30. Uniforms will be distributed within the next few days. Girls, if the new uniforms do not come in time, we will be wearing the old ones for our concert on Thursday.

Congratulations to Andrea Lockard and Anna Chesson for making it into Senior Regional Orchestra. They will be preforming on November 7 & 8. Anyone who audition needs to pay their $5.00 fee to Ms. Snow ASAP!

The FCHS Craft Fair is on Saturday, November 8, 2008 from 8-2:30.  We will be selling peanuts!!! We need parent volunteers! Please contact Ms. Snow if you are interested.

We have a rehearsal tomarrow. Please be tuned and ready to go by 2:20. We will be practicing with the chorus on the stage.  Next Thursday is our concert and the Longs event. The chorus will be joining us at the Longs event!! If you cannoit make it, please let Bridget or Viviana know! Remember we also have a bake sale next Thursday. Please bake!!
